When WideRay created the Jack mobile caching server to deliver on-demand, on-location content and applications to handheld devices via short-range wireless technologies, it needed to launch the company, introduce the product, establish the WideRay brand, secure partnerships and attract customers. Turning Point Solutions created a six-month communications and public relations plan and timeline that thoughtfully and methodically developed positioning, messaging and collateral materials and demonstrated momentum. We captured relevant daily news about the market, category, competition, partners and customers and developed highly qualified lists of key influencers, media and analyst contacts. We embarked on a rigorous press and analyst relations campaign to establish and build relationships, conducted press and analyst tours and engineered a WideRay presence in the wireless/mobile marketplace by placing speakers and demonstrating the product for use at key industry events. The plan, executed on time and within budget, introduced WideRay to over 200 industry influencers, secured 40+ in-person meetings with media and analysts, snagged spots at several industry events such as Red Herrings Venture 2001 and DEMO mobile conferences, garnered coverage in top industry print, radio and broadcast media, developed relationships with pilot customers and co-marketers and leveraged their brands to add value to the WideRay brand. Video: "This team demonstrated a no-nonsense, proven approach to launching the public face of new companies. They understand the value of a network ... and know how to apply firm and persuasive pressure to get a new company not just noticed but really in play." -- Saul Kato, CEO, WideRay
